FICO is a leading global analytics software company seeking a Data Center Operations Engineer to support internal and external customers. The role involves maintaining an optimally controlled environment, troubleshooting issues, and performing ongoing maintenance on servers and network equipment.

Requirements

  • Maintain an optimally controlled environment for servers, troubleshooting network, server, and application issues
  • Monitor and perform on-going maintenance on servers and network equipment
  • Rack and stack data center equipment, including but not limited to servers, networking devices, monitoring systems, and other equipment
  • Document and maintain currency of standard operating procedures (SOP)
  • Asset management tasks focused on inventory of data center assets (ServiceNow)
  • Windows, Linux, and/or VMware knowledge preferred
  • Experience with data center power management solutions such as Power IQ
  • Familiarity with workflow and ITSM tools and ticketing systems
  • Executing Smart Hands support on network and server hardware, involving connecting test sets or test routers to equipment, measuring light levels, offering planned maintenance or circuit migration support, troubleshooting hardware issues on any device, and performing the racking and de-racking of any installed device.
  • Power cycling routers, servers, switches, and soft-booting servers.
  • Providing additional services such as cage or rack builds, circuit migrations, and audits, etc.
  • Performing cleaning and inspection of all fibers.
  • Properly labelling equipment and cables with aisle, shelf, and unit designations
  • Diagnose hardware issues, coordinate with vendors for repairs or replacements (RMA process), and ensure timely resolution
  • Handle incoming and outgoing shipments, maintain accurate hardware inventory, and manage stock levels of IT components
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of physical infrastructure, cabling layouts, rack configurations, and associated processes
  • Maintain office IT infrastructure, including hardware and network systems

Requirements Summary

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training. 3-5 years of experience in data center operations, Linux operating systems, and networking protocols. CCNA certification is a plus
