The Director or Senior Director, Business Systems is responsible for providing strategic direction and overseeing the day-to-day operations of assigned Administrative and Financial computing systems, with a primary focus on the ServiceNow platform. The ideal candidate will combine strategic vision, technical expertise, and leadership skills to ensure the ServiceNow platform delivers maximum value to the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science, data science, information science or related field required.
- Minimum requirement: Ten (10) significant years experience in an IT functional area with experience managing mid-large teams with focus on both achievement of objectives as well as critical skill-building.
- Experience working with ServiceNow is strongly preferred.
- Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to present in front of executive leadership, e.g. C-level, EVP, and SVP.
- Demonstrable leadership in complex industry.
- Proven critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to take initiative, operate independently and motivate self and others.
- Understanding of the workflow in a healthcare organization and excellent project management skills.
- Ability to effectively lead and manage a large, diverse team of technical managerial/supervisory, professional, and support staff located onsite and remote.
- Strong negotiation and conflict management skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- Knowledge and skills with project management tools and methods.
- Knowledge of quality assurance tools and technology.
- Knowledge of regulations related to computer systems development, operations and use.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully direct, coordinate, and integrate multiple developmental, enhancement, and/or modification projects at an institutional level.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement short- and long-range systems, capacity, technology, and operational plans.
- Savvy communicator (skills) who easily adapts communication styles to the audience (e.g., succinct, semi-technical for executives and detailed technical discussions with architects, engineers, and vendors).
- Cultivates relationships seeking to obtain a deep understanding of the St. Jude user communities, including their need and use of technology; associated risks and business impact; promotes innovative uses of technology to further opportunities for improvement and efficiency gains.
- Build strong change management practice across the entire technology team. Oversee all change advisory / technology change management for the institution.
- Continuously improve processes and approaches for the benefit of staff, technology evolution and efficiencies; proactively solicit and incorporate internal and external feedback for process and experience improvement.
- Be an ambassador for Information Services both internally and externally; consistently demonstrate St. Jude Values.
