Principal Cloud Security Engineer

Rocket Lab is seeking a Principal Cloud Security Engineer to secure their cloud infrastructure. This role focuses on creating a secure and reliable platform for their cloud operations, utilizing automation, API-driven security, and statistical risk analysis. The Engineer will develop security policies and conduct assessments, collaborate with development teams to integrate security best practices, and provide guidance to internal teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or cybersecurity, or equivalent
• 12+ years of scripting experience (bash, powershell, python)
• 12+ years of experience with configuration management (CFengine, Puppet, Ansible, Cloudformation, Terraform)
• Extensive experience with Git-driven version control (Github, GitLab, Bitbucket, Phorge)
• Extensive experience with ticketing systems (Jira, ServiceNow)
• Experience with VMDBs (Brinqa, Tenable)
• Experience working under US Government compliance regimes (HIPAA, CCTT, NIST, DISA STIG)
• Proven cloud security architecture, design, and implementation expertise
• Strong understanding of networking concepts
• Experience reading network traffic captures
• Experience with cloud security tools and services
