Principal Observability Engineer, Remote

Experian is seeking a Principal Observability Engineer to help build reliable and scalable systems. This role focuses on consulting with teams on system reliability and performance, providing expert guidance and recommendations, and implementing best practices in observability. The position involves designing, implementing, and fine-tuning observability solutions, collaborating with multiple teams, and driving technical decisions around data and tooling.

Requirements

• 10–15 years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, SRE, or platform operations
• Programming background in Python
• Experience with Dynatrace
• History of implementing end-to-end observability architecture
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management
• Working knowledge of cloud-native infrastructure, distributed microservice architectures, and CI/CD pipelines
• Hands-on experience with Jira or similar systems
• Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., metrics, logging, and tracing platforms)
• Familiarity with IT service management tools like ServiceNow
