Specialist Integration Architect

The Specialist IS Architect – MuleSoft Platform is responsible for developing and maintaining the technical architecture of Amgen’s Enterprise MuleSoft Platform. This senior-level, individual contributor role focuses on defining and implementing the platform's infrastructure vision, shaping its roadmap, and ensuring alignment with the broader enterprise integration strategy.

Requirements

• Architect and implement core platform capabilities for MuleSoft Anypoint Platform including Runtime Fabric, VPCs, load balancing, and hybrid networking
• Design and manage containerized MuleSoft deployments on Kubernetes
• Lead design of API integrations that leverage AWS-native services such as S3
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate MuleSoft deployments using Docker, GitHub Actions, and infrastructure-as-code practices
• Write platform-level automation and tooling in Python, shell, or similar for provisioning, deployment, and monitoring
• Drive platform observability, logging, and performance optimization in coordination with cloud engineering and security teams
• Guide enforcement of security and compliance policies, including OAuth2, TLS, token management, and role-based access control
• Lead and conduct technical reviews, solution assurance activities, and architecture documentation
• Mentor MuleSoft engineers and developers, providing guidance on architectural patterns, DevOps, and platform reusability
• Collaborate with platform stakeholders to support roadmap planning, feature enhancements, and best practice implementation
• Serve as a subject matter expert on integration architecture, platform operations, and DevSecOps for APIs
• Oversee delivery of reusable APIs, templates, connectors, and accelerators to speed project delivery and reduce technical debt
