Staff Network Operations Engineer - Layer 4-7 - Federal

ServiceNow is seeking a Staff Network Operations Engineer to support US Public Sector customers. This role focuses on ensuring reliable and high-performance application traffic delivery, involving network infrastructure maintenance, troubleshooting, and collaboration with other engineering teams. The position requires a strong background in cloud networking, networking protocols, and the ability to adapt to fast-paced, ever-evolving environments.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in network operations or similar role
• Strong hands-on experience with load balancers, routing/switching, and security devices
• Solid understanding of network protocols and services (TCP/IP, BGP, DNS, TLS/mTLS, VPNs)
• Experience managing hybrid and public cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Proficiency in Linux systems administration and automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, GitLab CI/CD)
• Familiarity with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and service mesh architectures
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Willingness to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation
