Staff Software Engineer- Network Systems - Federal

ServiceNow is seeking a Staff Software Engineer- Network Systems to join their team. The role requires experience in network systems and technology, with a focus on automating network tasks and using tooling to monitor and manage the network. The engineer will be part of a team that defines and executes innovative ways to deploy, operate and monitor networking systems at scale.

Requirements

• Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving
• 6+ years of progressive software development experience with a focus on network systems and technology
• Proficiency in at least two programming languages
• Expert-level experience with CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code tools
• Solid networking foundation including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, routing protocols, and network security concepts
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Hands-on experience with container technologies and Kubernetes orchestration platforms
• Knowledge of load balancing technologies and infrastructure monitoring, metrics collection, and observability platforms
• Demonstrated experience with large-scale infrastructure migrations
• Ability to critically assess and integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving

Benefits

• Base pay of $163,600 - $286,300, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits
