Systems Administrator

Abacus Technology is seeking a Systems Administrator to provide technical support for the US Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI) in Quantico. The role involves maintaining computer systems, server hardware, and managing Active Directory/Windows environments. Excellent communication, analytical, and troubleshooting skills are required.

Requirements

• 3 years experience in systems administration in a Windows based environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field desired.
• Must be certified at IAT Level II (e.g., Security+, or other certification satisfying DoD 8570 certification requirements).
• Microsoft certification a plus.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows technologies, including Active Directory, Windows Administration, scripting, and Windows configuration techniques.
• Experience with Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022.
• Experience with VMWare ESXi, vCenter, and vSAN, and Horizon.
• Experience administering servers in a virtualized production environment using VMWare vSphere 7.x or 8.x technology.
• Experience with PowerShell for command line and scripting.
• Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining servers with Microsoft Windows.
• Experience with rack mounted or blade server hardware.
• Experience with Active Directory to include creating accounts and navigating a domain tree
• Experience creating and modifying Group Policy Objects.
• Experience managing and troubleshooting DNS functions.
• Experience with a trouble ticket system such as Remedy or ServiceNow.
• Experience with security as it pertains to server infrastructure, desktops, laptops, servers, firewalls, routers, and intrusion detection systems (IDS).
• Experience with a backup solution, hands-on experience with backup and restore procedures, and disaster recovery planning.
• Working knowledge of IT Systems Maintenance Compliance processes to include information assurance vulnerability management (IAVM).
• Experience creating, reviewing, and revising security documentation and artifacts.
• Strong understanding of network fundamentals to include TCP/IP and sub-nets.
• Experience with Storage Area Networks desired.
• Experience with DoD IT environment and networks.
