The Data Center Technician is responsible for providing hands-on technical support within a CoLo data center environment, including hardware installation, basic networking support, ticket management, and on-site assistance for internal teams and external vendors.
Requirements
- Provide field support (5+ years preferred), including break/fix, hardware installation, and general hands-on IT assistance.
- Manage and update SNOW (ServiceNow) tickets and asset records.
- Perform networking troubleshooting, including crash carts and console connections, ILO/remote access tools, wired and wireless network connectivity, switch, router, core/aggregation, ISP hardware, and cabling issues.
- Serve as on-site “Hands and Eyes” support for remote network engineers.
- Escort third-party hardware vendors and ensure adherence to site policies.
- Perform rack-and-stack of servers, switches, and additional data center hardware.
- Cable management, including routing under raised floors and through endcaps.
- Conduct remote and on-site support for software/hardware installations.
- Safely lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
