As a JIRA Developer, you will be hands-on in designing and building solutions for entire group, collaborating with multiple stakeholders to understand, design and implement leading automation solutions primarily by using JIRA.

Requirements

  • Administration:
  • Solid understanding of JIRA schemes (Workflow, Screen, Field Configuration, Issue Type, Notification, Permission).
  • User and group management, project roles.
  • Proficient JQL (JIRA Query Language).
  • JIRA instance health monitoring, basic troubleshooting.
  • Managing and evaluating Marketplace Apps.
  • Experience with JIRA Cloud and/or Data Center.
  • Development (Foundation/Growing):
  • Workflow Design & Implementation: Customizing workflows including conditions, validators, and post-functions.
  • Groovy Scripting (Basic to Intermediate): Familiarity with or ability to quickly learn Groovy for ScriptRunner (or similar tools) to write/modify scripts for common automations and validations.
  • JIRA APIs: Understanding of JIRA REST APIs and how they can be used for integrations.
  • Custom Fields & Screens: Ability to design and implement.
  • ServiceNow Knowledge (Awareness & Conceptual Understanding):
  • Awareness: Familiarity with core ServiceNow modules (e.g., Incident, Problem, Change).
  • Conceptual Understanding: Understands the purpose of ServiceNow in an IT ecosystem and how/why it might integrate with JIRA.
  • Basic understanding of how ServiceNow APIs could be used (even if they haven't used them extensively).
  • Automation & Integration Skills (Support & Implement):
  • Scripting skills (e.g., basic Python, Shell scripting is a plus).
  • Experience with webhook implementation.
  • Understanding of authentication mechanisms (API Keys, Basic Auth).
  • Ability to understand data mapping requirements.
  • Can implement or configure automations using JIRA's built-in tools or common apps like ScriptRunner (for simpler tasks).
  • DevOps & Agile Understanding:
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Soft Skills:
  • Problem-Solving: Good at identifying and resolving common JIRA issues.
  • Eagerness to Learn: Crucial for developing more advanced automation/integration skills.
  • Communication: Able to explain JIRA configurations and gather basic requirements.
  • Proactive & Detail-Oriented: Takes initiative in maintaining and improving the JIRA setup.
  • Documentation: Ability to document configurations and basic processes.

Requirements Summary

Graduate in Computer Science, IT or any relevant degree with 1-3 years of hands-on experience as a JIRA Administrator, experience configuring and managing JIRA projects, workflows, custom fields, and schemes, and knowledge of ServiceNow and ScriptRunner
