We are seeking a Mobile Mining Systems Co-op student to assist a high-performing team in delivering and maintaining leading-edge digital mining technology. The successful candidate will engage with innovative software, hardware, and service suppliers to develop, deliver, and maintain systems that optimize the safety, productivity, and environmental sustainability of Teck's mining operations.
Requirements
- Working towards a degree or relevant background in Computer Engineering or Computer Science combined with Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Knowledge of General Computer Controls (GCC) related to operations, information security, and change management system software, application source code, network, electronics, command line, and system database technologies
- Technical writing and documentation experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems, virtualization, Active Directory and computer networking fundamentals
- Experience working with ServiceNow or alternative ticketing systems
- Familiarity with PowerBI, Tableau or similar tools for generating KPI's and measuring success
- Strong commitment to customer satisfaction and the ability to maintain strong relationships with business partners, business management, end users and vendors
- Strong cross-functional team participant and collaborative approach to problem solving
- Ability to work autonomously and within a highly distributed team environment
- Excellent analytical, root cause analysis and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals relating to wireless networking, firewalls, and knowledge of common network protocols
