Senior Observability Engineer (DevOps)

Gartner is hiring a Senior Observability Engineer (DevOps) to join their team. The role involves designing, building, and operating infrastructure to enable observability of critical assets across the organization. The ideal candidate will have experience with log analysis frameworks, observability and data analysis tools, and cloud and serverless technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science or Engineering (or equivalent work experience)
• 4-8 years in a role operating a relevant enterprise log analysis framework
• Deep knowledge on installing, configuring, maintaining, and using observability and data analysis tools
• Skilled in data processing, visualization and analysis with SPL, SQL, Regex; Javascript, Python, Bash, Powershell; HTML, CSS, Javascript
• Familiar with automation, DevOps, CI/CD, & IaC tools and practices
• A fundamental understanding of developing and working in the cloud and with serverless and containerized technologies
• Comfortable in Linux administration and common OS troubleshooting utilities
• Working understanding of good software, network, and systems design
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Contributions meet or exceed team standards
• Looks for opportunities to improve team and process
• Familiar with Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, or similar tools
• Analytical and critical thinker
• Team mindset: respects the time of others, communicates openly, asks questions, and takes pride in their work
