The Sr Business Systems Analyst acts as a bridge between business stakeholders and the IT organization to ensure technology solutions meet business needs. This role focuses on analyzing business processes, identifying improvement opportunities, gathering requirements, and supporting the design, development, and implementation of IT solutions that drive business success.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience leading or operating in this role of 10+ years)
- 10+ years of proven experience managing IT projects
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, or hybrid models)
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Smartsheet, ServiceNow, etc.)
- Solid technical background with an ability to understand IT concepts such as networking, cloud services, infrastructure, and enterprise applications
- Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with competing priorities
- ITIL certified
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a focus on detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work with stakeholders at all levels
- Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall
- Experience with business process mapping and workflow tools
- Proficiency in requirements gathering tools and platforms (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, ServiceNow, etc.)
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language
- Understanding of IT systems, databases, enterprise applications, and/or cloud platforms
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to understand and simplify complex IT concepts for non-technical audiences
- Strong project management and organizational skills to handle multiple priorities and deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and communication tools (SharePoint, intranet CMS, or email campaign tools)
- Experience creating communication plans and working cross-functionally with technical teams
- Familiarity with ITSM practices (such as ITIL), cybersecurity, digital workplace initiatives, or enterprise application rollouts is a plus
