We are seeking a Platform System Analyst to monitor and support our critical infrastructure 24/7. The successful candidate will be accountable for 24/7/365 monitoring and service restoration of the core Data Centre infrastructure. The role requires a solid understanding of VMware, VCentre, Linux, Windows, Cisco /HP Blade servers, and storage technologies including Nutanix.

Requirements

  • 4 - 5 years of hands-on experience in a support role managing server environments
  • A solid understanding of VMware, VCentre, Linux, Windows, Cisco /HP Blade servers, and storage technologies including Nutanix
  • Hands-on experience with various monitoring platforms (Vsure,Netcool,HP Openview, OpenNMS, SCOM, Splunk experience would be an asset etc.)
  • Post-secondary or technical diploma/degree/certification
  • Current technology certifications in any of the supported solutions is an asset
  • Experience in a multi-service, multi-vendor environment
  • In-depth knowledge of internet protocols and internet-related services including email, DNS, DHCP, SNMP as well as other related protocols
  • Solid understanding of Service Management principles and experience utilizing ServiceNow and CMDB
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, using a structured and methodical approach to solving problems
  • A great communicator, clear and concise (both in written and verbal)
  • Previous experience working rotational 24/7/365 shift work
  • A positive, “can-do” attitude and customer-focused approach toward issues
