The System Engineer role involves the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IBM mainframe equipment, including data centers and operating systems. Responsibilities include hardware management, incident resolution, and utilizing change management tools. Experience with IBM z/OS, z/Linux, ServiceNow, and Python is required.
Requirements
- Install and maintain IBM mainframe hardware
- Monitor production/development environments
- Troubleshoot hardware failures
- Hardware infrastructure management (z15/z16/HMC/DS8000/TS7700/TS4500/FlashSystems)
- Trouriage, diagnosis, and repair of hardware incidents
- Troubleshooting and managing microcode upgrades
- Fluent knowledge of systems commands and hardware infrastructure
- Experience with IBM z/OS and z/VM
- Scripting with Linux BASH, Python, and RESTful APIs
Requirements Summary
