Systems Reliability Engineer

Scotiabank is seeking a Systems Reliability Engineer to join the Systems Reliability Engineering team, focusing on improving system stability, reliability, and efficiency through Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles. The role involves collaborating with various teams, designing monitoring, and contributing to incidents to improve resiliency within the development and engineering teams. This position is key to improving system stability and reliability in support of growth.

Requirements

• Top-notch engineer with experience in Software Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering and technology operations
• Expertise and working experience with any of the following monitoring/observability tools: Dynatrace, Splunk, AQA, DataDog, Prometheus, Grafana etc
• Experience with cloud technologies such as GCP/Azure/AWS
• Experience using continuous integration tools and techniques such as Jenkins, Bitbucket, GitHub, Docker, Kubernetes etc
• Experience with ITSM tools (ServiceNow, a plus)
• 5+ years or IT experience with at least 3 years of working in an SRE/DevOps role
• Exposure to artificial intelligence and machine learning models, experience is a strong asset
• Experience in building medium and complex Power BI
• Knowledge of Unix/Linux and coding languages (i.e.: Java, Python) a strong asset
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• ITIL Foundation Cert. in ITSM would be an asset
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
