The Billing Supervisor is responsible for driving team performance across the entire Billing Department, ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and payer regulations, and performing complex, technical, analytical, and financial work.

Requirements

  • Supervise and drive productivity at the individual and team level
  • Lead the team members in achieving monthly reduction in Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Create efficiencies by improving processes and identifying best practices in customer service
  • Handles highly escalated service issues with patients, clinical locations, carriers, or agents
  • Recruit, hire, engage, coach, and train new and existing team members
  • Responsible for developing and administering quarterly employee performance evaluations
  • Monitor, review and approve time sheets and time away requests timely
  • Troubleshoots and researches process/payer issues for leadership as needed
  • Reviews and interprets operational data to assess the need for procedural revisions and enhancements
  • Maintain and foster a positive work environment using the team concept of cross-training
  • Oversee the review/approve function for junior team members write-off batches
  • Assist junior team members with complex work-related issues and/or questions about departmental processes
  • Assist with handling dissatisfied customers, resolving customer & executive complaints, and BBB requests timely
  • Responsible for phone queue management, monitoring call flow, volume, AHT, ASA, Abandoned Calls, and call quality & compliance
  • Responsible for complex reporting & analysis of daily/weekly/monthly department metrics/KPIs
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations
  • Ensure that appropriate medical records are maintained according to HIPAA guidelines
  • Track and review employee time to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Identify process improvement opportunities, recommend solutions, and implement management action plans to improve workflow
  • Effectively onboard and assist with training of new hires and existing team members
  • Assist in implementing new payor contracts and updates to existing contracts as needed
