Staff Database Administrator

ServiceNow is seeking a Staff Database Engineer to support, optimize, and scale their database-backed services. This role involves diagnosing and resolving complex database issues, collaborating with engineering teams, and automating database maintenance tasks. Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience with MariaDB and PostgreSQL in production environments
• Strong understanding of database internals, indexing strategies, replication, and failover mechanisms
• Proficiency in SQL performance tuning and query optimization
• Experience with backup/restore strategies, disaster recovery planning, and data migration
• Familiarity with monitoring tools
• Fluent in German and English (written and verbal)
• Ability to travel to customer site in Germany
• Ability to be on-call if required
