Staff Software Engineer - RaptorDB Provisioning (backend)

This is a full-time Staff Software Engineer role for RaptorDB Provisioning, building tools to safely operate and manage PostgreSQL databases in ServiceNow data centers. The role involves designing, building, and maintaining high-quality scalable code, working with stakeholders, and collaborating within a distributed team. It's a fundamental role contributing to ServiceNow's reliability and success.

Requirements

• Expertise in managing and operating PostgreSQL databases in production.
• Experience with data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance/scale considerations.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MariaDB, Oracle).
• Experience with Kubernetes at scale.
• Linux knowledge including deep understanding of its internals.
• Excellent technical problem-solving skills and root cause analysis.
• Experience with Ruby, Puppet, Jenkins, TeamCity, and CI/CD systems.
