Staff Software Engineer- AI- First Observability

ServiceNow is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the design and development of their AI-first observability platform. This role involves building the next-generation observability pipeline, integrating AI capabilities, and driving engineering best practices. The ideal candidate will have experience with distributed APIs, metrics, and tracing, and a strong understanding of agentic AI.

Requirements

• Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes.
• 10+ years of software development experience in Java.
• 5+ years of experience building observability solutions (metrics, logging, tracing).
• 1+ year of hands-on agentic AI experience.
• BS in Computer Science (AI specialization) or Mathematics; advanced degree preferred.
