The Systems Engineer, Library Development Operations will be responsible for managing library applications and servers, deploying updates, identifying production issues, and implementing integrations that meet our customers' needs.
Requirements
- Unix/Linux and Windows servers, including server administration, shell scripting, networking, and web servers as well as cloud services, such as AWS or Azure.
- Client and server-side coding, server-side programming language and/or web framework (e.g., Ruby/Rails, PHP/Drupal, Python/WSGI, Java/Tomcat), and server-side technologies including Apache Solr, NGINX and/or Apache HTTP Server, Tomcat and/or Jetty, and Passenger.
- Supporting IT operations in an always-up, always-available service, and working in a collaborative team-based environment that requires strong interpersonal skills and communication with both IT and non-IT staff.
- Knowledge of authentication and authorization technologies, including LDAP and SAML/Shibboleth, security best practices, and automation/configuration management/deployment tools, such as Ansible.
