Value Chain Tooling Specialist role involves driving innovation across the end-to-end technological ecosystem underpinning BT International’s products and service offerings. The role will play a pivotal role in the transformation of BT International’s operations by working with multiple stakeholders to ingest requirements, design solutions, and deliver continuous service improvements.

Requirements

  • Drive engineering delivery of high-quality code on time and on budget, implementing measurement and predictability into engineering capabilities.
  • Execute technical decisions, technology choices, and architectures for high-performance products, balancing short-term impact with long-term transformation.
  • Monitor and manage timely releases, ensuring compliance with release quality metrics.
  • Provide consultation on complex and strategic issues using advanced technical knowledge, developing bespoke or leading-edge solutions.
  • Implement the defined technical roadmap to meet business and engineering requirements.
  • Lead engineering and operational excellence initiatives, defining metrics and processes for regular assessment and improvement.
  • Influence and shape the software engineering function, implementing the technical vision and driving innovation in new technologies, platforms, and applications.
  • Ensure ‘best-in-class’ engineering by delivering modular, secure, reliable, diagnosable, actively monitored, and reusable services and components.
  • Design and implement new architectures, standards, and methods for large-scale enterprise systems, proactively removing blockers.
  • Research, design, and write new software; perform data analysis to identify issues and reduce technical debt.
  • Support the implementation of enterprise architectures and methods.
  • Develop high-quality tools and automation processes to support continuous delivery and developer productivity.
  • Promote an engineering culture of innovation, creativity, and delivery with predictability and reliability.
  • Continuously develop and share knowledge on emerging trends and changes in software engineering.

Requirements Summary

Minimum 3 years' experience in a managed service provider or telecommunications company, ITIL v4 Foundation certification, and degree in Business IT or related field
