Senior Applied Research Scientist

ServiceNow is seeking a Senior Applied Research Scientist to leverage AI/ML expertise and GenAI insights to solve real-world problems in document understanding and workflow automation. The role involves research, prototyping, and design for a Document Intelligence Platform, investigating RAG techniques, and collaborating with various teams. This position is a core part of ServiceNow's effort to make the world work better.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in applied machine learning or AI research, ideally with exposure to GenAI, document intelligence, or NLP.
• Experience working with or adapting large foundation models (LLMs, vision-language models).
• Proficiency in JavaScript, especially in enterprise platform development.
• Proficiency in Python and familiarity with modern ML frameworks.
• Strong understanding of document AI, including text extraction, layout-aware processing, entity linking, and semantic retrieval.
