ServiceNow is seeking a Staff Database Engineer to support, optimize, and scale their database-backed services. This role focuses on database performance, replication, and availability, and requires collaboration with product and engineering teams. The ideal candidate will be proficient in MariaDB and PostgreSQL and have a strong understanding of database internals.
Requirements
- Extensive hands-on experience with MariaDB and PostgreSQL in production environments
- Strong understanding of database internals, indexing strategies, replication, and failover mechanisms
- Proficiency in SQL performance tuning and query optimization
- Experience with backup/restore strategies, disaster recovery planning, and data migration
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, pg_stat_statements)
- Fluent in German and English (written and verbal)
